Landscapes of Uganda

Arrival at the airport at least 2 hours in advance. Boarding formalities and departure on a flight to Entebbe. Overnight on board.

Arrival, transfer to the hotel in Kigo, on the outskirts of Kampala, overlooking Lake Victoria. Accommodation.

Breakfast. Departure for Fort Portal, where you will have your first contact with Uganda's incredible landscapes. Lunch. In the afternoon, a guided walk along the belt of lakes and volcanic craters, during which the guide will explain a little about the culture and traditions of the Kingdom of Tooro, one of Uganda's traditional kingdoms. After the tour, a visit to a traditional house in one of the surrounding villages. Return to the hotel, dinner and accommodation.

Breakfast. Departure for the meeting point in Kibale National Park to start trekking in search of the chimpanzees and other primates that inhabit Kibale Forest, the largest of its kind in sub-Saharan Africa. Kibale has the largest concentration of primates in the world, comprising up to 13 different species of primate, including the Ohoestes monkey, the red colobus, the blue cercopithecus, the red-tailed guenon and the gray-cheeked mangabey. More than 1,400 chimpanzees live here. Lunch and departure for Queen Elizabeth National Park. Arrival at sunset and free time. Dinner and accommodation.

Breakfast. Safari in the Kasenyi area, within the Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you will have the opportunity to observe lions, buffaloes, elephants, antelopes, leopards, hyenas or even the rare giant forest pig. Lunch at the hotel, located next to the Kazinga Canal pier. After lunch, cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a 32km natural channel that connects Lakes Edward and George. Along the cruise you will have the opportunity to observe one of the world's largest concentrations of hippos, buffaloes, Nile crocodiles and water birds (more than 600 species have been sighted in the Queen Elizabeth National Park). Back at the lodge, safari as the sun goes down. Dinner and accommodation.

Breakfast. Departure for Entebbe. Along this journey you will pass through various regions and districts of this area of the country, enjoying spectacular landscapes, tea plantations, and matooke, the changing vegetation towards Mbarara, the capital of Ankole. Lunch. Cross the equator in a south / north direction, heading for the airport. Boarding formalities and departure on a flight back to Portugal. Night on board.
