DAY 3 – SOSSUSVLEI
Breakfast. In Sossusvlei, the dunes rise up to 300 meters into the air and are ranked among the largest in the world. The dune valleys are marked by vast clay pans where you can see that the Tsauchab River gave up its struggle to reach the sea more than 60,000 years ago. In addition to the dunes and valleys of Sossusvlei and Sesriem Canyon, a number of activities and sights have developed around the region and created a variety of lodges with the right occupations for leisure time in the desert. Plants and birds are the predominant form of life in this dissected kingdom, but it is also home to some mammals, reptiles and insects, which, in the absence of coastal fog, rarely wander far from the course of the river. Dinner included.
