Safari Savanas do Quénia

Arrival at the airport at least 2 hours in advance. Boarding formalities and departure on a flight to Nairobi. Overnight on board.

Arrival in Nairobi. Transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Accommodation.

Breakfast. Departure for the Shaba National Reserve, passing near Thika, through breathtaking landscapes full of mountain streams and fields of tea and coffee. After passing through the town of Nanyuki, continue north, eventually reaching an outpost known as Isiolo, the last major stop on the journey to the remote northern border district. Arrival at the lodge in time for lunch. Departure after lunch for a photographic safari, where the film "Out of Africa" was shot. Return to the lodge at sunset. Dinner and accommodation.

Departure in the early hours of the morning for a sunrise safari. Return to the lodge for breakfast. Rest of the morning to relax by the pool or on the terrace overlooking the river. After lunch, departure on safari. Return to the lodge at sunset. Dinner and accommodation.

Breakfast. Leave Shaba and head south. We cross the hills of Mount Kenya until we reach the town of Nanyuki. We continue towards Lake Nakuru, passing through Nyahururu. Arriving at the park, which is known for its birdlife and offers the chance to see flamingos and is also home to black and white rhinos, as well as the endangered rothschild giraffe, we go on a short safari until we reach the lodge. Lunch and time to rest. Afternoon game drive, returning to the lodge at the end of the day. Dinner and accommodation.

Departure for the Maasai Mara, passing through the town of Njoro, where the climb to the top of the Mau Escarpment begins; then, heading south, the journey continues to Narok, the gateway to the Maasai Mara, and district headquarters of this part of Maasailand. Cross Kenya's breadbasket, covered with hectares of wheat and barley plantations. Arrival in the Masai Mara at lunchtime. Lunch. After some time to rest, safari in the afternoon, returning to the lodge at sunset. Dinner and accommodation.

Breakfast. Departure towards Nairobi, crossing the vast plains at the bottom of the Rift Valley, before climbing the Rift escarpment on a road built by Italian prisoners during the Second World War. Arrival in Kenya's bustling capital around midday. At a time to be arranged locally, transfer to the airport to board the flight back to Portugal. Night on board.
