Safari High Plains of Tanzania

Arrival at the airport at least 2 hours in advance. Boarding formalities and departure on a flight to Kilimanjaro. Overnight on board.

Arrival and transfer to the hotel in Arusha. Free day. Dinner and accommodation.

Breakfast. Morning at leisure. At around 12 noon, departure towards Tarangire National Park, the third largest in Tanzania, sanctuary to a large population of elephants and where the majestic Baobabs are also a feature of the park. Arrival at the park and lunch. Safari in the park in the afternoon. Dinner and accommodation.

Breakfast. Departure for the Serengeti National Park, passing the Ngorongoro Crater. Stop for a picnic lunch. In the afternoon, safari en route through the Serengeti National Park. Dinner and accommodation.

Breakfast. Morning safari in the Serengeti National Park. This savannah is one of Africa's most important ecosystems, with an average of more than 2 million wildebeest and half a million zebras, hundreds of gazelles, impalas and other herbivores roaming the plains. You may also spot lions, leopards and cheetahs. Lunch. Afternoon safari. Dinner and accommodation.

Breakfast. Departure to the Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area. Arrival at the lodge in Karatu for lunch. Afternoon free to rest and enjoy optional activities (booked and paid for locally). Dinner and accommodation.

Breakfast. Departure towards Ngorongoro for a full day's safari in the crater, enjoying spectacular scenery and a large concentration of wildlife. Picnic lunch. Return to the lodge at dusk. Dinner and accommodation.

Breakfast. At a time to be arranged locally, return by road to a central hotel in Arusha (room not included) for lunch in a local restaurant (subject to arrival time in Arusha or departure from Kilimanjaro). Afterwards, transfer to Kilimanjaro airport to board the flight back to Portugal. Night on board.
