Athens, the captivating capital of Greece, seamlessly weaves ancient history into its modern urban fabric. A visit to this vibrant city promises a journey through time, where ancient ruins stand proudly alongside contemporary life.
Mykonos, a jewel in the Aegean Sea, is renowned for its dazzling blend of cosmopolitan charm and traditional Greek beauty. This Cycladic island beckons visitors with its sun-soaked beaches, vibrant nightlife, and picturesque landscapes.
Santorini, a Greek island in the southern Aegean Sea, is a breathtaking destination known for its stunning landscapes, whitewashed buildings perched on cliffs, and romantic sunsets.
Mykonos is a popular tourist destination in the Greek islands of the Cyclades group, situated in the middle of the Aegean Sea. In the 1960s, Mykonos became a bohemian mecca and is now one of the glitziest holiday resorts in the country that happily flaunts its sizzling style and reputation. Chora or Mykonos town is the main town on the island. It is filled with narrow, winding streets, whitewashed buildings with blue trim, nice restaurants, clothing and jewellery shops, a fish market and a vegetable market. It is one of the most cosmopolitan and crowded towns of the Aegean. Besides Chora, there is only one other town on the island, Ano Mera. Ano Mera is quiter and less touristy. While you are here, visit the Monastery of Panagia Tourliani, a traditional Greek Orthodox Church which has a beautiful iconostas. The island is dry and barren, but there are some fine, sandy beaches, the two most well-known being Paradise and Super Paradise, but there are many other beaches you can seek out around the island. From the charming port, catch a boat out to the beaches or out to Delos, and you will be travelling from the present into the ancient past, from one set of myths to another.
Santorini – a romantic Greek escape
Santorini, a stunning Greek island in the middle of the Aegean Sea, was shaped by a massive volcanic eruption in 1450 BC, leaving a dramatic caldera that rises above the waves — a breathtaking sight from the island’s clifftops. With Greece’s long, warm summers, it’s perfect for a holiday from May to October.
The island is pure Greek charm, with whitewashed houses, blue-domed churches, endless vineyards and charming towns. Thira, the capital, sits atop the caldera rim, while Oia is famous for its unforgettable sunsets — ideal for couples seeking romance.
On the east coast, Kamari and Perissa offer silky black-sand beaches, watersports and easy access to Thira, combining a more affordable stay with spectacular views.
With TUI, you can also create an island-hopping holiday, combining Santorini with Mykonos for even more beaches, nightlife and iconic Cycladic scenery, making it a perfect romantic escape.
