One look at the beaches and you’ll understand how the island earned its nickname. Boa Vista is fringed by 55 kilometres of coastline, where rugged rocky coves melt seamlessly into sweeping bays of soft white sand.

Many of Boa Vista’s hotels sit close to the small, friendly town of Sal Rei, giving visitors a taste of the island’s laid-back way of life. Staying nearby means you’re within easy reach of Sal Rei’s pastel-coloured streets, dotted with surf shops, local markets and welcoming cafés.
