Day 1 Tunis / Hammamet

Arrival at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 2 Hammamet / Kairouan / Tozeur

Breakfast.Transfer to Kairouan. Take a walking tour with your guide through the ancient Medina of Kairouan to the Great Mosque of Kairouan, located in the center of the Medina and built by the Arab general Uqba Ibn Nafi in 670 AD. The next visit is to the impressive ancient engineering site of the Aghlabid basins, where two large water basins and some cisterns have survived the passage of centuries, as they helped to conserve and distribute decades of scarce drinking water resources. After Kairouan, head south to Gafsa for lunch before arriving at the city of palm trees, Tozeur. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 3 Tozeur / Douz

Breakfast. Morning at leisure to enjoy the hotel facilities. After lunch, departure from Tozeur via the country's largest salt lake, Chott el Djerid, with an excellent endless view of white and pink mirages, also used as a filming location for Star Wars. Arrive in Douz, the “gateway to the Sahara,” enjoy time at leisure or an optional camel ride. Accommodation.

Day 4 Douz / Matmata / Djerba

Breakfast. Departure for Matmata. The area contains one of the best-preserved and still inhabited troglodyte houses, carved by Tunisian Berbers in the middle of the surrounding land. A Star Wars film location is also open to visitors in Matmata. The next stop is the Island of Dreams, with lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, discover the central area of the island, Houmt Souk, famous for being the locals' attraction for daily shopping and home to colorful souks, as well as a colorful neighborhood like Djerba Hood, a street where artists from all over the world gathered in 2014 and created beautiful pieces of graffiti art. Day 5 Djerba / Guellala / Djerba

Breakfast. Start the visit to Djerba in the Jewish quarter, whose center is the El Ghriba Synagogue in the village of Erriadh. There were once 20 synagogues in Erriadh, one of which is now a place of pilgrimage for many visitors from around the world. The synagogue is a modest building from the outside, but it has a fascinating interior, richly decorated with colorful windows and tiles, and well-preserved authentic furniture. After lunch, departure to Guellala, from the Berber name Iquallalen, which means potters and is renowned for its pottery production, an activity practiced for centuries and which defines the main economic base of the locals to this day. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 6 Djerba / El Djem / Sousse

Breakfast. Departure to El Djem, home to the Roman amphitheater of El Djem, the second largest Roman amphitheater, built around 18 centuries ago and still exceptionally well preserved today. The site was mainly used for spectator events, namely gladiator battles. Lunch at a local restaurant in El Djem. The day will end with a short walk around the marina of Port El Kantaoui, where you will have the opportunity to buy some souvenirs or simply enjoy the scene while sipping a Tunisian coffee or fresh juice. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 7 Sousse / Sidi Bou Said / Carthage / Tunis

Breakfast. Start with a visit to picturesque Sidi Bou Said. This charming village is known for its white walls and indigo blue windows and doors, and offers stunning views over the Mediterranean Sea, located at an altitude of over 100 meters. The next stop is at the neighboring archaeological site of Carthage, located on a magnificent coastline. Although the ancient city was destroyed by the Romans, this UNESCO World Heritage Site features excavations of houses, baths, and sewer systems. The other significant site in the area is the amphitheater of Carthage, built around the 1st century AD and later rebuilt by the Romans. The theater now hosts some 30,000 visitors at the annual Carthage International Music Festival. After lunch, departure to the center of Tunis to visit the Bardo National Museum, famous for its rich collection of mosaics and located in a former Beylical castle in the center of the old city of Tunis. The day ends with a visit and time at leisure in the old medina of Tunis before heading to Gammarth. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 8 Tunis

Breakfast. At a time to be arranged locally, transfer to the airport and assistance with check-in. (Depending on your flight times, lunch is included on your arrival or departure day).
