Day 1 Windhoek
Arrival in Windhoek. Reception and transfer to the hotel. Day at leisure. Accommodation.
Day 2 Windhoek / Namibian Desert
Breakfast. Departure heading south, crossing Spreetshoogte or Remhoogte. The journey takes approximately 6 hours, and will take you away from the city, entering one of the most rugged and spectacular areas of the country, the Namibian Desert. On the way, you can make a stop in Solitaire, an old settlement known for its collection of old cars half-buried in the sand. Arrival at the hotel. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 3 Namibian Desert
Breakfast. This day will be dedicated to enjoying the landscapes that this incredible place offers. We recommend visiting Dune 45 and Big Daddy, over 300 meters high, as they are essential points to enjoy at dawn; the valley of Sossusvlei and Deadvlei, dry lakes known for being the cemetery of centenary trees. Nearby, there is also the Sesriem Canyon, 2 kilometers long and 30 meters high, where you can see the sunset. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 4 Namibian Desert / Swakopmund
Breakfast. Departure heading north, crossing the Ghaub and Kuiseb gorges, passing the Tropic of Capricorn while passing through the gravel plains until reaching the coast. Accommodation.
Day 5 Swakopmund / Walvis Bay / Swakopmund
Breakfast. On this day, we recommend visiting: Walvis Bay, a bay from which cruises depart to observe dolphins and seals; Sandwich Harbour, part of the Skeleton Coast, where you can take a safari through the dunes, and also the small town of Swakopmund, known for being a former seaside resort and for its German-style colonial center. Accommodation.
Day 6 Swakopmund / Damaraland
Breakfast. Along the Skeleton Coast, you will head north via Henties Bay, to visit the seal colony at Cape Cross. On the way, we recommend stopping at Lichen Fields and also observing the shipwrecks between the colorful village of Wlotskasbaken and Henties Bay. The journey resumes towards the interior, following the plains of Uis and consequently the entire northern area of Twyfelfontein. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 7 Damaraland
Breakfast. Day dedicated to getting to know the area, where we recommend visits to the rock paintings of Twyfelfontein; to the Damara Museum, where you can learn about the customs of the tribes that inhabit the area; to the rock formations known as Organ Pipes and also a visit to Burnt Mountain. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 8 Damaraland / Etosha
Breakfast. Departing eastward, with a stop at the Petrified Forest, you will arrive at Khorixas, where you will continue the tour towards Outjo and Etosha National Park. If time permits, in the same afternoon, you can take a safari through the park. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 9 Etosha
Breakfast. Day dedicated to visiting the park. A basin of about 5000 kilometers, usually dry, creates a unique landscape that you can enjoy. This territory offers a particular approach to the wildlife of that place that has adapted to the arid and dry environment, which includes species such as elephants, black rhinoceroses, cheetahs and black-faced impalas. Continuing the path through the interior, we recommend that you stop at the waterholes where these species gather to drink water. (Lunch included only in the Superior category). Dinner and accommodation.
Day 10 Etosha
Breakfast. On this second full day in Etosha, you can discover and unveil all the charms and corners of this National Park. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 11 Etosha / Windhoek
Breakfast. Early in the morning, departure back to Windhoek to return the rental car before the transfer to the airport.
VERY IMPORTANT
- The indicated prices do not include entrance fees to parks or places of interest indicated in the itinerary.
- At the entrance to Etosha from Okakuejo, it is recommended to buy a map of the park, as well as some snacks to enjoy the safari day.
- Although many roads are paved, those closest to the parks are gravel paths, so it is recommended to contract an extra insurance coverage for the vehicle at the destination.
- In Damaraland there are guided tours with specialist rangers to search for the desert elephant.
