Lapland - Ylläs | Departure Santiago de Compostela 04Dec25

DAY 1 – SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA / KITTILÄ / YLLÄS

Arrival at the airport at least 2 hours in advance. Boarding formalities and departure on a flight to Kittilä via Helsinki. Welcome to Lapland and the world of endless snow! On the way, the guide will present the travel program for the next five days. Collect the thermal equipment that will be used during your stay in Lapland. Dinner and accommodation.  

DAY 2 – ELF VILLAGE, MEETING SANTA CLAUS

Breakfast. In the morning, depart for the elf village. Situated on the banks of the Ounasjoki River, this is a fascinating family complex that is steeped in the myths and stories of the Elves. On arrival, an elf will give you a secret map of the region and guide you through the magical forest. Follow the elf towards the “gingerbread house” and bake delicious cookies. Along the way, the elves will help you find their secret magical places and tell you stories about their life in the village. Finally, the moment everyone is most looking forward to is meeting Santa Claus himself! Each family will be able to meet him privately in the elves' office, hand in their letter and take their own photos. Santa will give a present to each child under the age of 10. Return. Lunch. Afternoon at leisure or optional snowshoe excursion. Accompanied by the guide, enter the forest and walk along an easy trail that will lead you to a frozen lake. Stop to enjoy the campfire while enjoying a cup of hot drinks and cookies. Return to the hotel. Dinner and accommodation. 

DAY 3 – SNOWMOBILE SAFARI AND ICE FISHING

Breakfast. Transfer to the safari office to collect your helmet and gloves for the snowmobile safari tour. The guides will explain the instructions and safety rules. The adults will share the snowmobile, while the younger children will do the activity on the sled driven by the guide. Discover how much fun it is to ride a snowmobile through rivers and snow-covered forests. Along the way, the guide will choose a good spot to cut a hole in the ice and, with a bit of luck, fish will be waiting to be caught. Then a break for a light lunch by the fire and drinks to keep you warm. Return to the hotel by snowmobile. Rest of the afternoon at leisure. Dinner and accommodation. 

DAY 4 – HUSKY SLED SAFARI AND REINDEER SLEIGH RIDE

Breakfast. In the morning, set off for a husky farm, where you'll be greeted by the barking of enthusiastic dogs. Before the tour begins, you'll receive instructions on how to control the sled, which you'll ride in pairs. Set off into the wilderness with the team of huskies. During the 5km ride, enjoy the wild beauty and take photos on the farm. Hot drinks and cookies will be served at the nearby kota. After the walk, return to Levi for lunch. In the afternoon, depart for a nearby reindeer farm for a reindeer sleigh ride through the snow-covered forest. After the ride, you will sit in a cozy Lappish teepee to drink coffee or tea and listen to stories about reindeer herding. Return to the hotel by coach. Dinner and accommodation. 

DAY 5 – YLLÄS / KITTILÄ / SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA  

Breakfast. Transfer to Kittilä airport and flight back to Santiago de Compostela, via Helsinki. Arrival.
