DAY 5 – BORGARNES / AKUREYRI
Breakfast. The journey continues through part of the northern region of Iceland along the so-called “Arctic Coast Path”, passing through small villages such as Blönduós with its unique church, which was built in neo-Romanesque style and inspired by the typical nature of the region, simulating a volcanic crater. Continue to the liveliest town north of the Arctic Circle, Akureyri. Time at leisure to explore the town and sample some of the local delicacies. Optional whale watching safari (not included). Accommodation.
DAY 6 – AKUREYRI / MÝVATN / AKUREYRI

Next, a visit to Lake Mývatn and the Dimmuborgir formations, which ancient local legends considered to be the “gateway to hell” and the home of elves and goblins.
